Ivy Rock are working with a top London university, looking for a Treasury Officer to support the Head of Treasury & Business Planning in the running of the day-to-day operations of the treasury management for the University, its subsidiaries and Trusts. **The role** The Treasury Officer provides an efficient reconciliation process to ensure the University bank accounts are reconciled on a monthly/weekly/daily basis whilst maintaining a strong control environment. The Treasury team are responsible for treasury managementincluding controls, risk management, treasury reporting, loan portfolio and new funding, banking relationships for the University, the Unified Trust Fund and the trading subsidiaries. As directed by the Head of Treasury & Business Planning, the Treasury Officer will be involved in delivering efficient controls in the following areas: **Treasury Management** - Manage daily bank statement uploads for all bank accounts. - Perform daily cash management and related activities. - Produce the monthly, weekly or daily bank reconciliations for all bank accounts of the University, Trust Funds and subsidiaries on a timely basis, ensuring that transactions are in accordance with the University’s established Financial Regulations, policies,controls and procedures. - Ensure that journals relating to Treasury transactions e.g. interest, deposits, transfers, sweep movements, loan repayments etc. are prepared and posted in a timely manner. - Ensure that journals relating to the posting of bank charges and merchant services charges to the relevant cost centres are posted in a timely manner. - Ensuring that funds are deposited in the correct deposit accounts, money market funds or other instruments in line with the Treasury Management Policy and within a timely manner as instructed by the Head of Treasury & Business Planning. - Manage all bank accounts including foreign currency accounts, to ensure that deposit limits are in line with Treasury Policy. - Manage administration of bank users, ensuring the efficient set up of new users, changes to responsibilities of users, and termination of user access. - Facilitate ordering user cards, readers, pins etc. and any other access requirements. - Ensure the bank mandates and procedures are up to date at all times to reflect changes in University staff. - Address all queries from the University’s day-to-day bankers in a timely manner and manage relationships with the banks. - Ensure that all "Know your customer" (KYC) requests from the banks and lenders are addressed promptly. - Raise payments and liaise with Financial Services in relation to debt facilities as per loan agreements. - Assist the Head of Treasury in the production of the quarterly treasury report by providing information as required. - Assist with internal and external auditors for Treasury transactions including liaising with banks and other financial institutions on audit matters. **Other duties** - To provide cover for the other team members. - As directed by the Head of Treasury & Business Planning, to ensure that procedural manuals and guidance for all processes are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated. - Through regularly liaison with departments and colleagues in Finance to proactively look to continuously improve the experience of interacting with the team and efficiency of processes. - To ensure that there is regular communication to all stakeholders on relevant developments in the Treasury area and arrange for necessary training to be provided. - Assisting with various projects across Finance and the implementation of new processes and system changes. - Leading by example, ensure that the University’s Financial Regulations are followed and that there are sufficient checks and balances to identify, mediate and prevent future breaches of the Financial Regulations. - To actively follow and promote the University policies, including the University's Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities Policy and actively promote these wherever possible. - To maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations. - Any other duties consistent with both the grade and scope of the post. - Any other duties reasonably required of the post holder by the reporting manager.
