SIG Penrose is a key delivery partner of the London HMPPS/CFO Activity Hubs, working with Reed in Partnership. The Hubs have been specifically designed to support those furthest from the job market and most difficult to engage towards employability throughthe delivery of alternative, innovative interventions in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.

We are looking for a talented, passionate and ambitious Deputy Service Manager to support the Service Manager in leading a team of skilled Support Workers across the 2 Hubs in Croydon and Lewisham, holding them accountable for delivering high-quality supportwhilst ensuring they are equipped with the skills and support to thrive. You will play an active part in maintaining a culture of learning and development through supervisions, appraisals and continuing professional development processes. You will ensure acoaching approach to line management is implemented throughout your team and adopted by frontline staff when supporting service users.

Working with the Service Manager and senior management team, you will support the running of this service, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions. You will lead your staff team through their induction ensuring they receive all necessary trainingand support, and that communication in clear and consistent.

You will work closely with the Service Manager in monitoring, analyzing and reporting contract performance and compliance, taking swift action to address any areas of underperformance. You will lead by example in delivering high quality 1-1 and group interventions,supporting both staff and service users to do their best.

Subject to volumes, you may at times be required to directly hold a smaller caseload of service users, providing high-quality support and interventions whilst also line managing several Support Workers. You will adopt a strength-based, non-judgmental approachwith the clients you support, whilst also being vigilant on identifying and managing risks, including safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children.

Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System, excellent communication skills and being able to develop strong working relationships with your teams, commissioners and other key stakeholders will be vital to the role. Along with the qualities to build and maintainsuccessful partnerships and relationships.

You will have a passion for working with people with experience of the criminal justice system and/or with other marginalised groups, and a belief that everyone can turn their life around regardless of past or present circumstances. You will have some previousmanagement experience, an ability to motivate and inspire, and a keen eye for detail.
