**The Lecturer Electrical/Electronic Engineering Role**:
The role of a Main Grade Lecturer (MGL) at South and City Birmingham College is to support the College’s aims, objectives and mission statement to provide quality education and training in response to local needs. This role will also include the developmentof our Engineering provision to support students into HE.

**Key responsibilities of our Lecturer Electrical/Electronic Engineering include**:

- Teaching BTEC Electrical and Electronic Engineering courses, both theory and practical, at least to Level 3 (preferably to Level 5)
- Delivering mainstream provision to full time 16-18 and adult learners
- Adhering to qualification requirements and tailoring programmers to suit employer requirements
- Responsible for planning and managing learning programmes (which will include curriculum development and regular review meetings)
- Responsible for the management and tracking of the student learning programme including administering all paperwork related to tutoring courses and groups, tracking documents monitoring targets, achieving and maintaining group size targets and arranging additionalsupport where required
- Acting as a course leader providing learners with academic support, meeting their vocational and educational needs
- Carrying out the required assessment which will include initial advice and guidance, initial assessment, referral for additional support, assign homework and provide timely feedback on the learning experience.
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of student and course registers and ensuring poor student attendance is addressed and targets set when required
- Liaising with parents/guardians, schools and other organisations with regards to attendance and achievements, where applicable
- Responsible for ensuring student progress records are completed in a timely manner which will include monitoring of targets, Individual Learning Plans and e Tracker to provide course progression, advice and guidance

**What we’re looking for in our Lecturer Electrical/Electronic Engineering**:

- Hold a Level 5 qualification in Electronic Engineering (HND, FdEng)
- Have recent, relevant industrial/commercial experience in the Electrical/Electronic Engineering sector
- Have excellent practical electronics skills in constructing analogue and digital circuits and using a range of measurement and test equipment for analysis
- Experience of using electronic design and simulation software packages
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and demonstrable presentation skills
- Demonstrable teaching skills and experience
- Experience of working successfully as part of a team
- Demonstrable experience of using ILT in teaching
- Demonstrable record of achievement against aims, objectives and targets
- Demonstrable record of working flexibly and using own initiative
- Demonstrable administrative and organisational skills
- Have excellent technical knowledge
