**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We are currently recruiting for a motivated, reliable and customer focused Facility Management Assistant to assist in the provision of a customer focused Facilities Management service for one of the Council's main operational buildings based at High Street North, Dunstable, LU6 1LF.
**Job Type**: Permanent - Full Time.
**Pay Rate**: £12.00 per hour.
**Working Hours**: Two positions are required to fill this role, 1 x working morning through to the afternoon and 1 x working afternoon through to early evening, but we would like each to be flexible between 06.30 - 20.00 Hrs for cover etc.
**Position 1**: 37.5 Hrs per week, 7.5 Hrs per day, Monday, to Friday - 06.30 Hrs to 14.30 Hrs.
**Position 2**: 37.5 Hrs per week, 7.5 Hrs per day, Monday, to Friday - 12.00 Hrs to 20.00 Hrs.
**Start Date**: Immediately.
**Key Responsibilities and Tasks**:
The role will encompass the various functions of delivering a comprehensive facilities management service to the client and involve reception duties, overseeing the cleaning team, caretaking, portering, couriering, archiving, maintenance services and out of hour's reception.
- Assist in the provision of a professional out of hour reception desk service, providing a courteous and efficient support and advice service to staff, customers, & members.
- Assist in the provision of a professional Portering service within & between the main operational offices.
- Assist in the provision of a professional caretaking service within the main operational buildings.
- Take a proactive role in the Health, Safety & Welfare within the main operational buildings.
- Assist in the provision of a customer focus and professional minor maintenance service within the main operational buildings.
- Carry out minor items of Planned Preventive Maintenance on the main operational buildings as directed by the Facilities Management (training will be provided).
- Assist in the provision of a professional Portable Appliance Testing (Visual inspection) service within the main operational buildings.
- Provide cover for colleagues during holiday and sickness.
- Liaise with and attend to contractors requiring access to the building outside of normal working hours to ensure safe access and egress.
- Order materials and supplies related to the duties of the post as required.
- Raising & responding to requests (related to the duties of the post) on the Service's property maintenance & management system.
- Working in other council buildings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during the course of employment that relates to other employees, the public, contractors, elected members etc.
- Accept responsibility for the post holder's own health and safety and that of others as set out in health and safety policies.
- Undertake other duties that may arise or as may be delegated from time to time, appropriate to the grade of this post.
**ABOUT YOU**:
- Experience as a Cleaning Services Supervisor.
- Ability to build credible relationships.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience of audits and working with ISO 9001, 14001 and QHSAS 18001 standards.
- Ability to listen to and motivate employees.
- Proven record of being responsive and innovative.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet our core values.
- First aider certificate, if not training will be provided.
