**Job Title: Support Worker**

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker with expertise in Management of Actual or Potential Aggression **(MAPA)**, Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression **(PMVA)**, and Restraint Training. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals in challenging situations, ensuring their safety and the safety of those around them. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing de-escalation techniques, employing restraint methods when necessary, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Risk Assessment and Management**:

- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential triggers and situations that may escalate aggression.
- Develop and implement personalized risk management plans for individuals requiring support.
- **De-Escalation Techniques**:

- Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to prevent the escalation of aggressive behavior.
- **Restraint Training**:

- Demonstrate proficiency in restraint techniques in accordance with MAPA and PMVA principles.
- **Collaboration with Healthcare Team**:

- Work closely with healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurses, to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.
- Communicate effectively with team members to share insights and strategies for managing challenging behaviors.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, interventions, and client progress.
- Prepare incident reports and collaborate with management to review and implement improvements in care plans.
- **Client Support**:

- Provide compassionate support to individuals in crisis, maintaining a person-centered approach.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and alternative behaviors to manage stress and aggression.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant certifications in MAPA, PMVA, and Restraint Training are required.
- Previous experience as a Support Worker in a similar setting, with a focus on individuals with challenging behaviors.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions and the impact of aggression on individuals and those around them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to promoting the dignity and well-being of individuals in care.
- **DRIVERS LICENSE AND OWN VEHICLE ESSENTIAL**

**Working Conditions**:
This role may involve working in a dynamic and challenging environment. Flexibility in working hours and availability to respond to crisis situations may be required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £16.00-£22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
