Cardiff, United Kingdom British Red Cross Full time

This role is focused on delivering transformational change in the way we help people in crisis. With accountability for the delivery of products and services that are being delivered by multiple teams and may have technical or political complexity. This role will use digital technologies and ways of working, such as service design to deliver excellent services in new and exciting ways, bringing people along on the journey.

**What you will be doing**

The role will also support the upskilling of others within the organisation, contribute to developing our culture into one that works more collaboratively, puts the user at the heart of our operations, and makes decisions based on insight.

The Digital Transformation Programme Manager will play a role by making meaningful changes at the British Red Cross to help tackle pressing humanitarian challenges such as supporting refugees, responding to emergencies like Grenfell and the conflict in Ukraine, as well as transforming internal operations.

**Meet the Team**

The Digital Transformation team currently works across two main areas: migration and displacement and disasters and emergencies. We’re also working across the organisation on changing our ways of working, with a focus on product management and agile delivery methods.

Our team is small but what we can accomplish is significant. We’re united by a shared passion for user-centred design, making things better for people who use Red Cross services and for the volunteers and staff delivering them.

**Key Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Ensuring we deliver value for the organisation by being accountable for project planning and prioritisation and ensuring it is in line with organisational need and requirements
- Ensuring successful programme delivery and manage the various dependencies across teams, departments and the organisation
- Communicating clearly and collaboratively on the reasons for change, including the translation and measurement of value, helping upskill the organisation
- Coaching and mentor others to help them build experience and confidence with new ways of working, to further establish good practice
- Staying informed on external trends, and feed these into the organisation as appropriate to provide healthy challenge to existing ways of working and drive change
- Championing the digital transformation journey (and ways of working) with the wider organisation and externally, learning from others, and encouraging a culture of transparency, to help ensure the success of transformation projects
- Engaging effectively and persuasively with all stakeholders, successfully reacting and responding to challenge and ensuring work is transparent and accountable
- Responsibility for writing and managing tendering documents
- Contributing to the sustainability of projects and the organisation by exploring and supporting funding and partnership opportunities with organisations across all sectors

**What we are looking for**
- Knowledge of best practice programme management
- Working knowledge of technology (including digital, IT and data)
- Knowledge of maintaining a product or process through the delivery phases, from discovery, into live, and then into retirement.
- Experience of working closely with product development, digital, data or innovation teams.
- Experience of managing budgets
- Practical experience of developing strategic objectives and roadmaps
- Experience of managing and working with large numbers of stakeholders
- Experience of managing a portfolio of products or services
- Agile project management qualification e.g. Scrum master (desirable)

We offer a wide range of staff benefits, these include:

- 36 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- Option to buy an extra 5 days annual leave
- Up to 6% contributory pension
- Flexible working policy
- Discounts from a range of online and high street retailers
