Test Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a test engineer to join a Surrey based scientific instrumentation business. As a test engineer you will be required to Test high-precision electro-mechanical components, instruments and associated items as well as occasionallyassisting the quality team with final inspection.
To be successful as a test engineer you should ideally possess commercial experience within a similar role and be able to demonstrate a broad working knowledge of electro-mechanical products.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To carry out a range of functional tests, against company test procedures, on a range of electro mechanical products, in order to ensure that the product will be in compliance with the relevant national/international/in-house standards and methods.
- Checking compliance with build standards and specifications.
- Functional and visual inspection of final products.
- Calibration and Testing of instruments.
- Compiling reports and documentation for internal and customer reference on all tests conducted.
- Liaison with appropriate Engineering and Production Engineering Staff on any test related issues identified.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum of an NVQ or BTEC qualification in an Engineering Discipline or 'A' level grades in Science and Maths.
- Proven experience with a good, broad working knowledge of electro mechanical products.
- A good track record of demonstrating analytical problem solving skills.
- Enthusiasm, good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work across a range of products simultaneously.
- Ability to produce Test Reports.
- Excellent attention to detail, organised and able to prioritise.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually.
- Good level of competence with computer tools including Microsoft and other analytical software.
