**The Role**:
The role of Relief Practitioner is vital to help us achieve our aim of ensuring everyone has a home, a place in their community and a network of positive relationships that support them to build the life they want.

Providing cover for absence, holidays or to provide additional support to a team of Practitioners. You will recognize peoples’ strengths and work alongside them to build their confidence, self-efficacy, resilience, and motivation. You will assist people to develop practical skills, encourage healthier coping skills, build their problem solving skills, social skills and employability skills.

Relief practitioners use a flexible approach to work with people using services ensuring they receive the support they want and need at that time.

The role will require lone working at times and shift work.

**To be a Relief Practitioner within Four Square you will need**:

- To be proactive, highly organised, a problem solver, have a positive outlook, be approachable, friendly, patient, confident;
- Experience of working within a safeguarding framework working with vulnerable people who may have complex support needs;
- Strong personal and professional values that align with our organisational values of integrity, excellence, dignity, and support;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with people who use our services, colleagues, and partners;
- Good understanding of domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence, homelessness, trauma, and adversity and how it impacts life outcomes;
- A commitment to learning and developing and putting this into practice;
- A commitment to individual supervision and appraisal processes and motivated to action the personal development plan;
- Experience as a keyworker and commitment to undertaking all duties required of this role;
- Experience of completing casefiles to ensure they are up to date with clear and concise information;
- A commitment to learning and developing and putting knowledge and skills into practice;
- Regular attendance at reflective practice group sessions;
- Engagement in regular casework review meeting with the Senior Practitioner or Service Manager;
- Engaged in the wider organisation’s activities;
- Commitment to working in partnership with other organisations and professionals to support people;
- Honest, trustworthy and respectful to colleagues, people they support, partners, commissioners and all other stakeholders;
- Committed to excellence and engage in improvement plans for the services and wider organisation;
- Be creative in your approach to supporting people;

**Requirements**:

- Have a good standard of English and maths and able to produce clear written communications in the form of case notes, reports, diary entries, case studies timeously.
- Be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of starting as a Practitioner in a Housing Support Service and ensure you adhere to the Codes of Practice;
- Understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards: My Support, My Life;
- To comply always with Four Square’s Code of Conduct, together with its policies and procedures with regards to the maintenance of professional relationships between colleagues, the people we work with and external organisations;
- To adhere to Four Square's Confidentiality and Data Protection Policy;
- To adhere to Four Square’s policy on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion when working with colleagues, the he people we work with and external organisations;
- To adhere to and maintain, all health and safety standards;
- To work in accordance with Four Square’s core values and mission statement.
- To comply always with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure;
- To attend training, as required.

**Terms & Conditions**:

- £12.30 per hour (day) and £13.15 per hour (night)
- Ad-hoc hours, relief work
- Holiday pay accrual
- Based in the City of Edinburgh

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £12.30-£13.15 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 35 per week

- Support Worker: 1 year (required)
