**Engineering Support Assistant**

**B&Q Contract - WORKSOP**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Support Assistant to join our established team at B&Q Worksop. This challenging and exciting role will appeal to an individual with experience, drive, determination, and enthusiasm.

**THE ROLE**:
To assist in the general day-to day running of the site engineering operation, carry out first line fixes on non (A)HME equipment, to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. The role(s) are part of the formation of the in-house engineering team at the B&Q site, Worksop.
- To service and maintain the Company’s property and equipment as instructed by the Engineering Manager, in accordance with the set down schedules and manufacturers’ recommendations.
- To carry out reactive repairs and or fault diagnosis to Company’s property / equipment both indoors and outside the building.
- To comply with standard Health & Safety at Work responsibilities.
- To work flexible hours commensurate with the needs of the business and those sections using the site.
- To participate in standby duties and attend the site outside normal working hours in the event of an emergency.
- To undertake such duties as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager, relating to the safety and operation of the site.

**KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Essential**:
Administration skills, use of PC

Repairing mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and components

Experience of working in an automated warehouse environment

**Desirable**:
Educated to City and Guilds / BTECH standard or a minimum of 5 years mechanical engineering experience

Welding (mig/stick,etc)

Working knowledge of conveyors and associated equipment

Good systematic problem-solving skills on mechanical components
