**Trade Counter / Yard**

**Assistant**, you'll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our Branch. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.

**Part Time - Hours of work**: Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 5pm - 1in2 Saturdays 8am - 12pm

**What will I be doing?**

Not one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, but here are a few pointers:
- Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.- You will be based on the counter, processing our customers orders, preparing quotes, keeping the shop floor clean and tidy, and putting away any stock that comes in.- You will also book in our supplier deliveries.
- You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
- You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
- Full training is provided in order to drive our forklifts.- Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

My name is Lucy, and I currently work as part of the recruitment team here at Travis Perkins, but I started off working in my local branch on a Development Programme when I was 26 years old, to which I became a Yard Manager at my branch. **Training on offer**:
As part of your role you will enrol onto a 12 month programme, you will gain a Level 2 Trade Supplier qualification. All of your learning is “on the job”, Travis Perkins values a work-life balance and there is no need for you to complete any of your work “out of hours”. The training consists of a number of modules and you will have a dedicated coach that will guide you throughout, as well as being supported by your line manager (and in my case a really supportive team who I consider to be my friends)

Just remember you are
**never too old** for an development programme, I joined Travis Perkins as an Apprentice at the age of 26.

**Once your development programme is completed you will remain a valued member of the team.**
