**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POST**:Maintenance Person (part-time)
**REPORTING TO**:General Manager, Brantwood Trust

**JOB PURPOSE**:
To assist Brantwood in the delivery of visitor services to the highest standard the post holder is required to undertake the routine maintenance of the buildings
(grade 2 listed) and visitor route. The post holder is also required to undertake annual maintenance tasks and regular logged operational checks. The post holder will be required to assist in a range of maintenance projects and hours may have to be worked flexibly at times depending on the nature of the work.
Health and Safety guidelines and regulations are to be observed with regard to all tasks.

**The main duties of the post are**:
1. Carry out maintenance to the buildings and visitor route, as required.
To include painting, plumbing, joinery and simple electrical duties as required within the limits of regulations. Care to be taken to use correct paints and products.

2. Prepare for the house opening at 10.30am by cleaning the public toilets, emptying bins, replacing light bulbs, sweeping the paths, checking that the visitor route is presented to a high standard, and assisting colleagues as required.

3. Carry out annual maintenance to the buildings, liaising with contractors as required.

4. Carry out regular checks of the building and visitor route, including the jetty and life ring. These are to be logged and any defects reported to the General Manager.

5. Take monthly electricity and gas readings; check fire extinguishers on a regular basis; test the fire alarm; change water filters according to the regular schedule.

6. Prepare and set-up rooms for meetings, weddings and events.

7. To be available to participate in training courses, as required.

8. Observe health and safety guidelines and regulations with regard to all tasks undertaken.

**Salary**: £9.50 per hour
