Trainee Manufacturing Inspector

**We’re looking for a Trainee Manufacturing Inspector to join our engineering team within Score Group based at our facility in Peterhead.**

**Primary responsibilities**
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
- Checking of any machined parts and the recording of these results in appropriate excel spreadsheets
- Compile CNC programs for Vision Measuring System (QV) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for a wide range of single components, sub-assemblies and assemblies
- Assist to design inspection fixtures suited to our product line in order to streamline the inspection process
- Provide feedback to mentor or supervisor on dimensional variation between sequential components enabling sister tooling to be accurately assigned
- Bolt on with CNC machinists during any downtime in order to gain knowledge of CNC machinery operation and eventually operate machinery during busy periods
- Ensure that QA Cards and other associated paperwork are correctly completed
- Report any discrepancies/deviations from sizes/features on drawing to mentor or supervisor
- Ensure that all measuring equipment/machinery is within calibration date
- Assist with component cleaning pre and post inspection
- Carry out spot checks on machine at regular intervals and ensure that machinists are monitoring tool life
- Carry out weekly checks on Machines and report any faults found immediately
- Liaise with Manufacturing TL & DTL, regarding prioritisation of parts to be inspected

**Experience**
- Be aware of Machine Shop Inspection tasks
- Previous experience in machining (Desirable but not essential)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages is desirable
- Understanding of technical drawings - advantageous
- Previous Quality Control Inspection experience (Desirable but not essential)
- Previous experience or working knowledge with CMM or other similar equipment advantageous

**Qualifications**
- Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
