We are looking for 1 enthusiastic and motivated kitchen porter to work Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, in our established busy family friendly café which is situated in a fabulous location overlooking St Annes sea front. Immediate start available.
**Job Purpose**
As a kitchen porter, you are crucial to the smooth running and success of our kitchen environment and are highly valued. Some key responsibilities to ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly, include maintaining a clean environment, keeping storeroom space organised, cleaning cookware and cutlery while adhering to food health and safety regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Wash, sort and store all items of kitchen equipment, utensils and cooking implements.
- Support with cleaning of equipment.
- Support with cleaning the kitchen at the end of service to ensure it is ready for the next day.
- Maintaining the food storage areas such as freezers and refrigerators.
- Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen.
- Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly.
- Providing assistance to other kitchen staff, as needed.
- Basic food preparation tasks as requested by the Head Chef.
- Following company policies and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Ability to communicate effectively with other colleagues.
- Thorough attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Team player skills, assisting other colleagues when necessary.
- Experience and enthusiasm to contribute and fully support the running of the kitchen operation, combined with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Highly ambitious with a desire to play a key role in the continued growth and success of the business.
- Be willing to learn, take instruction and work under own initiative.
**Salary**: Excellent rate of pay
