Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons in accordance with the school curriculum.
- Provide engaging and effective extra-curricular sports activities and clubs.
- Coach evening training sessions and weekend games for Stretton JFC.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and personal development.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of participants, providing feedback and setting goals for improvement.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, adhering to health and safety guidelines and safeguarding policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with school staff, students, parents, and the Pro Sport Coaching team.
- Assist in organizing and running sports events, competitions, and camps.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and incidents, and report regularly to the management team.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest coaching techniques, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a Level 2 coaching qualification in at least one sport (multi-sport coaching qualifications are highly desirable).
- Experience in coaching children and young people in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of sports coaching principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire participants of all ages and abilities.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- First Aid certification and a valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Additional coaching qualifications or experience in multiple sports.
- Experience in working with children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
Position Details:
- Hours: 25 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling.
- Type: Contract position.
