**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**Title**:Progression Mentor

**Salary**:£11.99 per hour

**Hours perweek**: 30 (Fixed term contract endingNovember 2025)

**WorkingDays**:Monday to Thursday

**Location**:YMCA Western Gateway, WestBromwich, B70 9LG

**Project Outcomes**:
1. Ensure that 100% ofcustomers on the caseload have agreed action plans/personal goal plans, whichare shared with JCP work coaches.

2. Aim for 70% ofcustomers to have increased employability skills and enhanced confidence.

3. Work towards 70% ofcustomers moving closer to employment.

4. Strive for 30% ofyoung people to transition into sustained paid employment/self-employment for aminimum of 3 months, whether full or part-time. Even if earnings are under AET,young people should remain attached to the Youth Hub and access its support.

5. Aim for 30% ofcustomers to move into Work Experience or Voluntary Work.

6. Ensure thatparticipants have engaged with employment role models who have overcomebarriers to employment.

7. Encourage localemployers to engage with young people at the Hub, leveraging the Youth Hub'slinks to the Local Authority to target growth sectors such as Construction andGreen Industries.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Empowerment: Workwith young adults at the DWP Youth Hub at our Western Gateway site in WestBromwich, to identify their needs, conduct assessments, and regularly monitortheir progress.

2. Holistic Support:Create positive experiences in various aspects of their lives, includingeducation, training, and social interactions, by developing strategies andcollaborating with community, voluntary, and statutory services.

3. Solution-Driven:Collaborate with various agencies to find solutions for young adults facingobstacles to education, training, or employment.

4. Engagement:Encourage active participation in volunteering, learning, and work-basedactivities to prepare individuals for employment.

5. Best Practices: Stayupdated on local agencies, share best practices, and contribute to thedevelopment of effective intervention models.

6. Community Building:Help young adults get involved in their communities through variousopportunities in their local area.

**AdditionalResponsibilities**:
1. Collaborate withpartners to maintain a directory of support agencies, organisations, andemployers.

2. Build relationshipswith external agencies and organisations, ensuring accurate information isshared and enhance service delivery.

3. Assist in marketinginitiatives and events to promote education, training, and employmentopportunities.

4. Address any issuesraised by young adults, organisations, or employers that may impact futureopportunities.

5. Represent YMCA atlocal and regional events.

6. Collect and maintaindata for trend analysis and reporting.

7. Continuously improveservice delivery based on feedback.

8. Monitor projectdelivery and quality standards.

9. Assist withmonitoring, evaluation, and reporting in line with contractual requirements.

10.Handleadministrative tasks, including producing reports and compiling data.

11.Participate inpartnership and network meetings to promote YMCA's mission.

12.Engage in staffmeetings and provide regular feedback.

13.Uphold YMCA's valuesand ethos.

14.Prioritise health,safety and welfare of staff, service users, and volunteers.

Engaging, mentoring and supporting disadvantage individuals and groups

Experience of working within a multi disciplinary, multi-agency environment

The requirements of health and safety and work-based risk assessments

Working with adults and young people with complex needs

Collation of information resources, data input and dissemination

**Skills & Ability**:
Have a proven track record and reporting on outputs, outcomes and service evaluations

Proficient in ICT (word, spread sheets and use of databases)

Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels

Excellent administrative and accurate record keeping ability providing information as required to deadline

Report writing and strategic thinking and planning

Ability to build and maintain excellent partnerships

Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and persuade

To work effectively as part of a wider team
