**Are you an experienced Yard Assistant, Warehouse Operative with Customer Service experience?**

**Or would you like to train towards achieving your Counter Balance Forklift Licence?**

**Jewson in Gosforth** is hiring now for a **Yard Assistant **to join our busy builder’s merchant team.
- **Hours**:_8am-2pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8am-12pm_
- **Key Responsibilities of a Yard Operative**:_
- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson Values
- Help to prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
- Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
- **Required Skills and Experience**:_
- Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
- Stellar communication and people skills
- Customer focussed individual
- Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
- Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
