**Club Leader | Berkshire RG1 5PE | Full Time |£12 per hour**

Our client is a small local charity making a big difference to people with learning disabilities and their families.

Our client is launching an exciting new club for young people with learning disabilities aged 18-25 and needs a leader to run it.

As Club Leader, you will have operational responsibility for the development and management of the Club, the activities, the Deputy Club Leader, Clubs Assistant and Volunteers.

To succeed in this role, you will be calm and well organised and be capable of giving clear boundaries to clients on behaviour but positive and non-judgemental when dealing with difficult situations

The Saturday 18-25 Club will take place each weekend for 45 weeks of the year from 10.30 to 3.30pm.The Club Leader will have additional paid working hours to include 30 minutes on either side of the session for setting up and clearing up and 20 hours ofplanning time per year.

This role would suit someone who has experience in working with young people with learning disabilities in either care or educational setting.

**Are you the right person for the job?**
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Experience of working with Young People with Learning Disability in either care and/or educational setting
- Basic IT and administrative skills
- Experience in supervising staff/volunteers

**What will your role as a Club Leader look like?**
- The Club Leader will have responsibility for the development and management of the club, the activities, the Deputy Club Leader, Club Assistant and volunteers
- Tasks will include planning the club’s programme, leading the weekly sessions, safeguarding, keeping accurate records and carrying out risk assessments
- Ensure all client records are up to date and available to staff and volunteer for reference
- With the Clubs Manager arrange assessment and admission of new club members
- Liaise with the Clubs Manager to ensure that there are sufficient staff and volunteers
- available to run each session or where there are Volunteer requirements/issues
- Supervise Club Deputy, Assistants and volunteers and oversee the session ensuring safety and comfort of members ensuring appropriate toileting and personal care with due regard to safeguarding
- Ensure attendees have refreshments
- Liaise with the Clubs Manager about any problems in the running of the clubs
- Arrange to take photos of club activities for the website and newsletter liaising with the Reading Mencap Communications Officer.
- Liaise with the Clubs Manager for the purchase of any equipment or supplies required for club sessions or purchase direct claiming reimbursement from the club float
- With the Clubs Manager ensure risk assessments for all sessions and activities including off-site activities are completed
