Birmingham, United Kingdom Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust Full time

A post has arisen for a Dietitian to join the friendly, busy and supportive Dietetic Department at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. The hospital covers all major Paediatric specialties, and is a regional centre for oncology, cardiology, renal dialysis, gastrointestinal disorders, CF, stem cell transplant and metabolic disease and a supraregional centre for cardiothoracic surgery, hepatology and small bowel transplantation.

This is a rotational post, rotating between the following specialties:
General paediatrics, gastroenterology, oncology, surgery, Ketogenic Diets and cardiology. There will also be opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of specialties other than your main caseload as cover for colleagues absence or as a shadowing opportunity.

The initial rotation will be within the General Paediatric Caseload, managing a caseload of inpatients and independently running Dietetic led outpatient clinics, including group sessions for patients with CMPA. You will be working alongside another full time rotational Band 6 and part time Band 7 Dietitian

We are looking for an individual with a range of post registration experience as a clinical Dietitian, including ideally but not essentially some Paediatrics. It is however essential that you have a genuine passion for working in Paediatrics. The department is busy and active, and you need to be an individual with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills who thrives on working in a fast paced environment.

You must be able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development, have excellent communication skills, be friendly, enthusiastic and be able to work as a proactive member of the multi-disciplinary team

In exchange you will receive a wide range of experience and development opportunities across a number of clinical specialities and the support of a large team of experienced and knowledgeable Paediatric Dietitians.
