We have an opportunity for a Plant Supervisor to join our business and be based at our site in Rainham, taking responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the Sharpsmart plant.

**Key responsibilities**
- Supervise and line manage a team of operatives working multiple shift rotations with responsibility for handling disciplinary, grievance, sickness/absence and performance of employees.
- Machine optimisation - monitor issues with team leader and develop strategies to maintain reliability.
- Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly maintenance is being completed and recorded by the plant operatives.
- Use computer and tracking systems to manage workflow and quality control processes.
- Keep all plant spares, tools and equipment up to date on a register.
- Research new innovations to improve the efficiencies of the plant and equipment.
- Assess work performance of plant staff and ways to improve efficiencies
- Daily/weekly assessment of plant capacity schedule for planning purposes.
- Responsible for Health and Safety at the plant and for all operations staff working on site and off site
- Experience and knowledge of healthcare waste and supervising operational teams
- Excellent track record of leading successful teams and individuals to required company outcomes
- Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload and projects to achieve company objectives
- Build and sustain effective professional working relationships with stakeholders
- Flexible approach to be able to adapt to client demands, employee requirements and plant operating ensuring necessary compliance
- Enthusiastic and innovative mindset to improve the efficiencies of the plant and equipment
- Assessing and forecasting costs against budgets
- Health and safety and COTC
- Working hours 7am - 5pm
