- Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a specialist led, referral only hospital in the New Forest. We have specialist services in Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Soft tissue and Orthopaedic Surgery, Ophthalmology and Diagnostic Imaging. We also have extensive patient rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy and an underwater treadmill.

Our surgery intern program is aimed at motivated veterinary surgeons, who will play a key role in the management, monitoring, and treatment of our patients. We currently have two surgery interns who rotate between Soft Tissue, Orthopaedic Surgery and the out of hours service, over a twelve-month period. A surgery internship is the first step towards specialist training. For others, the skills and knowledge they have acquired during the internship can be brought to a general practice setting.
