OVERVIEW OF THE JOB

The role of Activity Leader incorporates the following:

- Ensuring that a high-quality activities and excursions programme is delivered, following guidelines closely.
- Responding to our clients’ needs, and meeting their demands wherever possible.
- Caring for the safety and welfare of the students at all times.
- Encouraging students on excursions to be interactive on social media about their good experience in London.
YOUR PROFILE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welfare
- To be responsible for the care, welfare and safety of students at all times whilst ensuring they follow the school rules. Extra duty of care is required for students under the age of 18 and training will be given.
- To read and understand all risk assessments for activities and excursions and to follow the guidelines set in these. To memorise the emergency procedure and promptly alert the emergency phone holder if needed.
- To promptly report any concerns to the Social Programme Coordinator, Vice Principal or Principal.
- To ensure that all Stafford House Health & Safety policies are implemented and monitored.
Leading Activities and Excursions
- Arrive with adequate time before each job to read and understand risk assessments for each activity.
- Encourage a high level of student participation in activities through motivation, organisation and supervision.
- Ensure that Stafford House and its customers receive value for money from the activities programme, and that correct use is being made of the facilities and coaches.
- Establish and maintain open communication between the school, clients, and Head Office.
- Represent Stafford House positively in all conversations with clients, staff, and the host centre.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Desirable
- Educated to degree level
- Previous experience of running an activity/leisure programme
- Experience of working with young people
- Proven competence in administration
- Computer literate
- Ability to speak a second language
- General knowledge of UK culture and the local London area
