Arboriculture & Vegetation Service Manager

We have a vacancy for a Service Manager to join our Arboricultural team covering Wales and Southern England You'll report directly to the Regional Operations Manager, overseeing and delivering vegetation management works and other operations on the National Grid and associated Utility contracts. Leading a team of Line Clearance Managers, you will deliver works to the highest standard exceeding contract and client expectations. You will have full P&L responsibility and accountability for Health and Safety standards within your designated area. Workswill be delivered as per specification, fulfilling contractual requirements, and achieving budgeted volumes. You will influence excellent health and safety practice and encourage a proactive environment of shared learning, with anyone who is affected by our contract activities. **Responsibilities will include**: - Assume financial responsibility for all aspects of contract delivery including safety, production and financial accountability for the given area or work stream, internal and external reporting while building strong client relationships. - Promote and demonstrate strong leadership by being progressive and proactive. - Be responsible for continuous personal development for yourself and your team. - Lead and develop staff to realise high levels of trust, competence, loyalty and retention. - Delivery of all of your own contractual and personal objectives and those of your team. - Accountable for all operational activities within your designated area, including management of Availability, Utilisation, Effectiveness and Productivity. - Ensure compliance with current legislation whilst continuously reinforcing the importance of safety performance and internal company and customer standards - Manage the existing contract and develop customer relationships to enhance existing and potential new business. - Comply with audit policy and close out actions according to timescales. - Control expenditure within your area's P&L through adequate monitoring of costs and overheads. - Monitor and adjust your monthly forecast, liaising with your Line Clearance Managers.
