This high growth manufacturing organisation on the Wirral are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the business in a newly created role due to a restructure.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your core duties will include;
- Lead the budget and financial planning processes
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
- Oversee, review, and promote adherence to the budgets for each directorate and department
- Provide the Managing Director with timely and accurate financial information
- Draft the annual report and accounts and manage the associated audit process
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
- Lead, motivate and develop the Finance team, ensuring that they continue to contribute to company objectives
- Proactively manage and embed cross organisational accounting controls, systems and procedures
- Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
- Update and implement financial policies and procedures
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
- Undertake additional duties, as required, from time to time

Key requirements;
- Experienced Financial Controller
- Previous experience of leading teams within a high growth SME environment
- Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years relevant experience
- Really strong technical accounting knowledge and experience
- Advanced Microsoft excel skills
- Drive and enthusiasm to hit the ground running
- A strong knowledge of current accounting practices, processes and standards
- A sound knowledge and understanding of the operational environment would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
