The Children’s Hearings System is the legal system for children and young people in Scotland who are either at risk or who have allegedly committed an offence.
Children/young people and their family or carers can become involved in the Children’s Hearings System for a number of different reasons. For example, if the child or young person is getting into trouble with the police, there are concerns that they are being abused, they are taking drugs or alcohol, or they are not attending school.
The Children’s Hearings System makes decisions on what to do to help children, to protect them and to address their behaviour.
SCRA has nine localities, supported by a Head Office. The nine localities are: Highlands & Islands, North Strathclyde, Glasgow, Grampian, South East, Tayside & Fife, Ayrshire, Central, and Lanarkshire/Dumfries & Galloway.
This role will sit within Scottish Children's Reporters Administration IT team where you will get first hand insight into working in an entry level IT role. As you increase your knowledge and understanding through on the job learning and your Apprenticeship, so will your responsibilities.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Building familiarity with SCRA’s IT security policy and digital systems.
- Dealing with the SCRA security mailbox and responding to enquiries
- Reviewing security logs, tracking activities, recording and addressing issues etc
- Become familiar with Scottish Government pathways, Yammer, information security standards and frameworks, the NCSC website, etc. all of which are used as sources of advice and guidance to protect our systems.
- Supporting with internal security audits
**Required Skills**:
- A passion for pursing a career in IT
- An excellent communicator
- Somebody who is keen to learn and work towards a professional qualification
- Good organisational skills
**Additional Information**:
- Salary - £17,356 per annum
- Salary Discussed on completion of Apprenticeship
- Monday - Friday, 9.00am until 5.00pm
***Future Career Progression**:
- Fixed 2 year contract, discussed on completion of Apprenticeship
