Cystic Fibrosis Research
Are you interested in an exciting career in clinical research?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated senior clinical research practitioner to join an exciting new research initiative in cystic fibrosis (CF) research. The research programme is funded by an award to University of Manchester to create an Innovation Hub in CF research, with a focus on understanding and preventing CF exacerbations. The Hub will run clinical studies across multiple UK CF centres, with the lead centre being the Manchester Adult CF Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital.
In this role they will be closely working with the Clinical Fellow, Project manager and Research Technician. Mainly, responsible for delivering trial activities for participants at the Adult CF Centre in Manchester, keeping data entry up to date and managing the flow of samples between collection and analysis sites, responsible for working with patients to ensure that samples and data are returned on time by sending reminders through the app and contact them when necessary. Closely working with the research clinical fellow and the project manager they will assist in the training and support of other CF centres.
This role will involve working with inpatients as well as arranging routine and acute visits and running outpatient visits through the Clinical Research Facility. They will also be required to carry out home monitoring activities on participants consenting to this study component. This will involve travel within 90 minutes of base to obtain home sampling of mould. and will require that the post holder has their own transport and a valid driving licence.
The post is for 12 months initially but with opportunity to extend to three years upon agreement between all parties.
