Emotional Health Practitioner (1 Full Time Role - 37hrs per week)
Based in Preston, Lancashire (with home/remote working too)
We are currently recruiting…
An Emotional Health Practitioner to work within the SCAYT+ team (Supporting Carers and Young People Together) at Lancashire County Council.
Are you an enthusiastic individual with a wealth of experience working with children looked after and adopted, and experience of working therapeutically, if so, we'd love to hear from you. We are excited to welcome an Emotional Health Practitioner for 37 hours per week to complement our service and the children and families we serve. Our SCAYT+ service provides therapeutic interventions to contribute to the emotional health and wellbeing of children looked after and adopted, including the parents/carers and professionals who support them. A small part of the work will be working directly with children, while the majority of SCAYT+'s work is completed with the child's main caregiver, social workers and other professionals who are involved in the child's care planning. The job role also entails delivering training to carers, adopters and professionals. We are looking for a practitioner who is self-aware, reflective and able to demonstrate great interpersonal skills. We're searching for a therapeutic professional who wants to make a positive impact in the lives of others. In this significant role you will be joining a valued team of professionals who place children and families at the heart of everything we do. So, if you're experienced in attachment theory, systemic practice, and therapeutic principles then we'd really love you to apply to join us
We have one full time post based at Riverbank Children's Centre, Preston, Brieryfield Road, PR1 8SR. Please note, the post requires travel across Lancashire.
Who we're searching for…
Passionate – We're searching for a practitioner motivated by their passion to help others as you'll be responsible for supporting care givers, children, and professionals – in this rewarding opportunity we'll need you to deliver bespoke training on a range of subject matters including attachment, developmental trauma, therapeutic parenting and more – this emotive yet exciting role will enable you to positively contribute to the lives of children and care givers whilst supporting like-minded professionals with the tools they need – in addition, you'll deliver direct interventions with children and families whilst immersing yourself in a multiagency approach as you'll work with Social Workers, NHS, Care givers and more.
Compassionate – We'll need a compassionate individual who will assess each unique situation and can assist care givers to manage challenging behaviour whilst fostering acceptance, attachment and the love and care each child needs – your aim will be to understand the difficulties both children and care givers face whilst delivering best practice to support them – we'll need you to be well versed in Dyadic Developmental Practice and PACE to assist children and families who have experienced trauma – so if you're an empathetic individual who can provide therapeutic support then apply to join this amazing team of like-minded professionals.
Communication – We need someone who is an excellent communicator, with the interpersonal skills needed to collaborate well with others – you'll converse well with the team and have the people skills needed to adapt to each situation and respond in the manner needed – as an experienced practitioner you'll be self-aware and use the appropriate language to both children, care givers and professionals whilst being reflective of your approach – this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of others and assist in supporting vulnerable children within our community – this heart-warming role really does assist in improving outcomes for children and families, so if you're ready to share your knowledge then we'd really love you to join us
