Job Description

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

A multi-discipline consultancy have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their office based in the New Forest. They have an expanding client base providing Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Employer's Agent Services across a range of sectors. They have an excellent reputation in the local market and have experienced a period of ongoing growth and are now looking to bring an additional Quantity Surveyor into the team.

Role & Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor:

  • Working on a variety of projects varying in value from £200k - £20m across multiple sectors
  • Preparing bills of quantities and elemental cost plans
  • Acting as the Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent
  • Manage tender and contract document preparation and analysis
  • Preparing and issuing variations
  • Budgeting, cost planning and value engineering
  • Administration of the build contract for the successful delivery of the project
  • Negotiating and agreeing costs for work packages with clients and contractors

Skills & Experience of Quantity Surveyor:

  • MRICS preferred
  • PQS experience is essential
  • Excellent knowledge and familiarity of the JCT suite of contracts
  • Strong communicator 
  • Good negotiation skills
