OCU is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Telecoms Contract Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of fibre optic network projects based in Peterborough. 

This is a pivotal role in driving the success of our telecommunications infrastructure initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Monitor progress and proactively address any issues or deviations
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Communicate project milestones and updates clearly and consistently.
  • Resolve stakeholder concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Implement quality control processes and conduct regular inspections.
  • Maintain safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, financial, and operational risks.
  • Develop contingency plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience managing fibre optic or telecom infrastructure projects.
  • Telecoms build experience, managing Project Managers/Programme Managers delivering fibre build telecoms work, understanding of street works, excellent track record in similar roles. 
  • Strong knowledge of fibre technologies (FTTH, FTTP, FTTB) and network design.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • PMP, Agile, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is a plus.
