About the role

As IT Operations & Third Party Assurance Lead, you will support the Information Security Officer in the delivery of customer IT due diligence, third-party risk management, and operational assurance activities across Learning Pool's technology environment. You'll work cross-functionally with Commercial, Legal, and Infrastructure teams to maintain customer trust, demonstrate compliance, and continuously enhance Learning Pool's IT governance and operational maturity. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of Learning Pool's technology stack ensuring systems are securely configured, efficiently operated, and aligned with both business and security objectives.

What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the delivery of customer IT assurance activities, ensuring timely and accurate responses to RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, and security audits.
  • Support BAU IT Operations (onboarding and offboarding users managing SaaS applications), collaborating with Infrastructure and other relevant Tech teams to align operational practices with privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with the Information Security Officer and Legal teams to ensure controls are effectively integrated into IT operations.
  • Support operational improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency across IT and assurance workflows.
  • Provide insights on industry trends and evolving customer expectations to inform Learning Pool's IT, Privacy, and Security strategies.
  • Support internal and external audits through evidence coordination and control validation.
  • Support endpoint management, including patching, antivirus, and software deployment across internal devices.
  • Maintain internal IT asset inventory and lifecycle tracking (hardware/software).

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • IT assurance and risk management: You will have proven experience managing IT assurance, risk, or operational processes within a technology, SaaS, or compliance-focused environment.
  • Information assurance expertise: You will have a strong understanding of information assurance and operational risk concepts, including IT service delivery, incident management, and supplier governance.
  • Communication skills: You will have effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and risk information into clear business language for diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: You will have a collaborative approach, working effectively across teams such as Legal, Information Security, Infrastructure, and Commercial.
  • Strategic thinking: You will have a strategic mindset, balancing customer needs, operational efficiency, and compliance obligations.
  • Adaptability and initiative: You will demonstrate adaptability and a proactive approach to solving problems and improving processes.
  • Technical foundation: You will have practical IT support experience, including endpoint and software management, basic networking knowledge, and familiarity with IT asset management processes, ideally within a medium-to-large IT environment.
  • Data protection knowledge: You will have a working knowledge of Data Protection and Privacy principles, including UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Google Workspace expertise: You will have experience working with Google Workspace and GAM, providing effective support to Google end users.

Although not essential, it would be advantageous if you had experience in the following:

  • Familiarity with Information Security Frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, NIST, and CIS.
  • IT Operations governance or service delivery management.
  • Experience leading internal or external audit engagements.
  • Exposure to cloud-hosted SaaS environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with third-party risk management frameworks or tooling.
