Full-Time, Permanent

£75,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience)

The Company

A legendary name in motorsport with over six decades of race-winning heritage - now entering an exciting new era under ambitious ownership.

This team is engineering the future of high-performance competition vehicles and cutting-edge technologies with real-world applications beyond the circuit. Based at the heart of British motorsport in Silverstone, they're scaling fast and investing heavily in top engineering talent.

If you're passionate about pushing technical limits and leading innovation in motorsport, this is your chance to make an impact where it really counts.

The Role

As Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you'll take full ownership of the electrical architecture, systems integration, and delivery of high-performance vehicle programmes - from initial concept through to track deployment.

You'll lead a small, highly capable team, setting the standard for electrical design, validation, and integration across all live and future projects. This role demands both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement, working at pace within a truly collaborative motorsport environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of complete LV and HV electrical systems across multiple vehicle platforms.
  • Own the electrical architecture – defining system topologies, interfaces, and standards.
  • Oversee wiring harness design, component specification, and electrical packaging.
  • Drive testing and validation activities across bench, rig, and track environments.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity, timing, and budget alignment.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Manage supplier relationships and external technical development as needed.
  • Support international track and test programmes as required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Automotive, or Motorsport Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven background delivering motorsport electrical systems – this is essential.
  • Hands-on expertise in wiring harness design, system integration, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Li-ion batteries, inverters, PMSM motors, and CAN-based networks.
  • Familiarity with motorsport data systems (e.g., Atlas, Wintax, Darab).
  • Experience using CAD and connectivity tools for electrical design.
  • Confident in fault-finding, diagnostics, and dynamic validation processes.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven team or project leadership in a motorsport or high-performance vehicle environment.
  • Trackside engineering and vehicle commissioning exposure.
  • Experience working across hybrid or electric powertrain systems.
  • Comfortable managing both hands-on delivery and strategic direction.

Why Join?

  • Be part of an iconic motorsport brand during a transformative growth phase.
  • Lead the direction and technical strategy of the electrical function.
  • Work on world-class vehicle programmes with crossover into next-gen mobility.
  • Competitive salary and hybrid working options from Silverstone HQ.
  • A genuine chance to make your mark in a team that values innovation, collaboration, and results.
