Job Description
We're looking for a confident, friendly optical advisor to become the welcoming face of our practice. In this varied role, you'll greet patients, book appointments, handle day-to-day admin and support our clinical team. You'll carry out pre-screening health checks, help new contact lens wearers feel confident using their lenses, and offer advice on frame styling, adjustments and minor repairs.
You'll also help keep the practice running smoothly by managing payments, processing invoices and NHS claims, and ensuring the practice always looks clean, organised and inviting. Most importantly, you'll make every patient feel cared for through warm, professional and attentive service. As you develop, you'll have the chance to progress into dispensing with further training.
We're looking for someone with strong customer service experience, excellent communication skills and the confidence to build rapport quickly. You should be positive, well-presented, adaptable, detail-focused and motivated, with good commercial awareness and the ability to work well within a team. Flexibility to support other practices when needed is also important. GCSEs (Grade C or above in core subjects) or equivalent are preferred.
