Job Description: Furniture Finisher

We are Forest To Home and Forest & Maker, two furniture brands based in the heart of Wiltshire. We create handcrafted residential and commercial furniture with sustainability and wellness at the centre of everything we do. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, care for the environment, and our tenacity to deliver incredible products.

We are now expanding our workshop capabilities and are looking for a skilled and experienced Furniture Finisher to join our team in our brand-new finishing room.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Wiltshire workshop.

This role will suit someone with extensive experience in furniture finishing and an expert understanding of water-based varnishes and lacquers. You will be responsible for achieving the highest quality finish on our bespoke furniture pieces, working closely with our makers and production team to ensure every product leaves our workshop looking exceptional.

The Person We Are Seeking Will Have:

• Proven experience as a Furniture Finisher or Sprayer, ideally within a bespoke furniture or joinery environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with spraying water-based varnishes and lacquers.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for achieving a flawless finish.
• The ability to colour match, sand, stain, and polish to exacting standards.
• An understanding of workshop health and safety practices and maintaining a clean, efficient working environment.
• A commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Desirable:

• Experience with both manual and automated spray equipment.
• Knowledge of wood preparation, sanding, and sealing processes.
• Health and Safety training or certifications.

Hourly Rate: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
