Are you a passionate and experienced Early Years practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a dedicated room based Deputy Manager to join our friendly team
(Must hold a relevant Level 3 or equivalent qualification)
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role is full time and you'll play a key role in leading and supporting the running of one of our playrooms.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll ensure a high standard of care, learning and development is delivered in line with the EYFS framework.
You will be a strong role model for staff, children and families - leading by example and bringing energy, creativity and leadership skills into our setting.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the daily management of the room alongside leading your team.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Observe and assess children's development, and maintain accurate records of children's progress and attendance.
- Ensuring planning, observations and assessments are carried out effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a dynamic and cohesive team focused on the well-being of the children.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as safeguarding policies and EYFS.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, to include DSL and Paediatric First Aid; to enhance skills and knowledge in early years education.
- To take overall responsibility in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
- A background in early childhood education or related qualifications is highly desirable.
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide and support junior staff members and students.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, Safeguarding and child development.
- A commitment to continuous professional development within the field of Early Years education.
