About You
You are a motivated and technically skilled professional with hands-on experience supporting and maintaining operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) environments. You thrive in a collaborative, high-security setting where attention to detail, adherence to standards, and proactive maintenance are critical to success.
You have a solid understanding of IT and OT systems, including Windows environments, virtualization, and network infrastructure, and are confident in administering user access, patching systems, and monitoring logs to ensure platform integrity and security.
You are a team player who brings a methodical approach to maintenance, configuration management, and documentation. You are eager to develop your expertise further within an operational security context, supporting the safe and reliable performance of critical infrastructure systems.
About the Role
As an
Operations Support Technician
within a Cyber Security Operations environment, you will play a key role in maintaining and monitoring the OT security infrastructure that underpins essential operational systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining security systems and underlying platforms, administering security tools, managing user access, and supporting compliance with security policies and procedures. You will work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure that all systems remain secure, up-to-date, and aligned with industry best practices and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned maintenance activities to ensure systems and configurations remain compliant with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Apply regular updates and patches to key platforms, including Windows, Citrix, and Firewalls.
- Conduct user administration activities such as onboarding, offboarding, transient access, and access reviews.
- Manage the collection, processing, and monitoring of system and security logs.
- Administer and oversee security infrastructure across the OT network.
- Support asset hardening and verification against defined specifications.
- Collaborate with operations and security teams to maintain compliance and ensure efficient system performance.
Requirements:
- Previous technical or administrative experience within an IT/OT environment (preferably OT).
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team, combining existing knowledge with on-the-job training.
- Familiarity and administration experience with the following systems, applications, and platforms:
- VMware
- Cisco
- Microsoft Windows
- Active Directory Domain Services (AD-DS)
- Citrix Remote Apps and Desktops
Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- VMware Certified Training
- Citrix Remote Apps and Desktops 7 Certification
