Job title: Production Engineer

Location: Glasgow

We are supporting a client in the space sector who are expanding a modern, lean manufacturing facility.

They are looking for a proactive, process-oriented Production Engineer to join the manufacturing team and support day-to-day operations, improve production processes, maintain product quality and help increase output capacity.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste and embed best practice.
  • Design and implement process improvements to raise efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Specify, design and develop production equipment, jigs and fixtures.
  • Write and maintain clear SOPs and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to introduce product changes and manage issues.
  • Support introduction of new technologies and equipment.
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety lead to maintain and improve site safety.

Essential experience & skills

  • 5+ years in a production or process engineering role within an electro-mechanical assembly environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in process design and deployment of improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Confident, proactive and able to work independently in a fast-moving environment.

Additional

  • Right to work in the UK required.
  • Full driving licence preferred.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime/weekends to meet critical deadlines.
