Company:
Lord Mayor's Appeal

Location:
City of London

Salary:

Shape the future of philanthropy in the City of London.

The Lord Mayor's Appeal (TLMA) is the dedicated charity of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. With a unique platform and extraordinary convening power, TLMA is at a pivotal moment in its journey. We are transforming from a fundraising-focused model to one that delivers our own impactful programmes and strategic partnerships, amplifying philanthropy across one of the world's most influential financial centres.

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Chief Executive to lead this transformation. This is a rare opportunity to take the helm of a charity that sits at the heart of the City's civic, business, and philanthropic communities. Working closely with high-profile stakeholders—including the Lord Mayor, the City of London Corporation, livery companies, and leading corporates—you will reimagine our purpose, refine our strategy, and deliver lasting impact at scale.

What you'll do

  • Lead transformation:
Develop and deliver a refreshed vision, mission, and multi-year strategy.
  • Drive impact:
Design and implement programmes and partnerships that reflect our ambitions.
  • Grow income:
Create and execute an ambitious fundraising strategy, building relationships with senior business leaders and philanthropists.
  • Engage stakeholders:
Act as a trusted ambassador, deepening engagement across the City and beyond.
  • Ensure excellence:
Oversee governance, operational delivery, and organisational performance.

What we're looking for

  • Proven leadership at CEO or senior director level within a charity, foundation, or civic organisation.
  • A track record of organisational transformation and growth.
  • Exceptional fundraising credentials, particularly in corporate partnerships and high-value giving.
  • Strategic vision, political acuity, and the gravitas to engage confidently with high-profile stakeholders.
  • A strong commercial mindset combined with deep commitment to charitable purpose.
  • Desirable:
Experience within hybrid charitable-civic structures and familiarity with the City of London's traditions
