To amplify awareness of LGBTQ+ matters and advocate for the rights that ensure equal lives for all.

Are you a highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for managing digital content? We are seeking a dedicated
Volunteer Content Editor / Web Administrator
to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and maintenance of our charity's website and digital platforms.

Working closely with the Head of Digital Content, you will be the guardian of our digital content, primarily focusing on
publishing, editing, and scheduling website material
using our Content Management System (CMS). This role is perfect for someone who thrives on maintaining structure, has excellent editorial skills, and wants to ensure our digital presence effectively communicates our mission and supports the LGBTQ+ community.

Your Responsibilities
The Content Editor / Web Administrator will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Content Publication: Accurately upload, format, and publish new articles, news posts, event details, and program information provided by various teams onto the charity website (CMS).
  • Editorial Review: Edit and proofread all website copy before publication to ensure flawless grammar, clear tone, brand consistency, and adherence to inclusive language guidelines.
  • Website Maintenance: Conduct regular audits of website pages to identify and fix broken links, outdated information, and technical errors, ensuring continuous site health.
  • Digital Asset Management: Organise, tag, and manage the website's image and video library, ensuring all media is properly optimised for the web and adheres to copyright laws.
  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all published content meets basic Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards, particularly concerning readability and image descriptions

*What you'll bring to Pride in London
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical and editorial skills, including:*

  • Content Management System (CMS) Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience working with a major CMS (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or similar).
  • Editing and Proofreading: Exceptional attention to detail with advanced skills in grammar, spelling, and journalistic or professional style editing.
  • Basic HTML/CSS: Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS is essential for formatting content and troubleshooting minor display issues.
  • Organisational Skills: High level of organisation and the ability to manage content assets, deadlines, and a consistent publishing schedule.
  • Reliability and Consistency: Proven track record of reliability and commitment to regular, predictable volunteer hours.
  • Digital Accessibility Awareness: Understanding of the basic principles of making digital content accessible to all users.
  • Familiarity with Inclusive Language: Commitment to using and promoting sensitive, current, and inclusive language appropriate for the LGBTQ+ community.
