As a Recovery Worker we offer a starting salary of £25,000 per annum, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per annum. For further details please reach out to a member of the recruitment team via

Job Description

Criminal Justice Recovery Workers provide interventions for people who have involvement with the criminal justice system. The Criminal Justice Team works collaboratively with other services including probation & prison services, this is a varied role working both in the office and various locations throughout Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Our Recovery Workers work with our clients to help them to determine what their goals, ambitions and passions are, working with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to get them back onto the path to recovery.

This is an integral role for With You - you will manage an active caseload of clients, connecting quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity.

You will be a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. We're looking for demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, ideally with those with substance misuse issues. We will provide you with the training and support that you need to develop in your role so whilst experience is preferred it is not essential, please make sure to demonstrate your interest in the position and your transferable skills in your application.

You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a team to ensure a high quality service is maintained. A driving licence is preferred for this role. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.

Please note, this is a Fixed Term Contract until March 2026, and working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm with some evening work as required. A driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
  • have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
  • have a driving license and access to a vehicle
  • have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
  • be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
  • have good oral and written communication skills
  • be comfortable using IT and digital media
  • be organised and able to manage your time effectively
  • able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
  • be happy to support other With You locations when needed

Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check and be able to pass a vetting check to work in custody and courts as required.
