Job Overview
JM landscaping limited are seeking an experienced Landscaper/groundworker to join our team. Undertaking all forms of landscaping duties through residential and commercial properties.
Established in early 2024, JM Landscaping and groundworks are a family-run business covering all aspects of groundworks and landscaping throughout South Wales and surrounding areas.
The ideal candidate will possess strong landscaping & groundwork knowledge and a passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. This role involves various tasks related to landscaping & groundworks such as:-
Patios & paving - porcelain, natural stone & concrete
Artificial grass
Turfing
Composite/timber fencing
Decking
Brick & blockwork
concreting, foundations, formwork
Resin Bound
Drainage
and more.
This role will be on a sub-contractor bases to start, with the potential of full time contracts in the near future.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
- Working to deadlines and managing time effectively
- Dig and prepare soil/sub base for paving, planting, turf etc, ensuring proper depth and quality.
- Setting out fence lines, digging holes, cat scanning for services, erection of fencing
- Perform some but not necessarily all hardscape tasks such as building retaining walls, pathways, and patios, resin bound, block paving, driveways etc
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety standards.
Essentials Skills & Experience
- Full driver's license and ideally own transport to get to and from site/pick up point every morning.
- Physically fit and healthy
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Groundworks, landscaping, construction experience
- Good eye for detail
- Polite and well mannered.
- Good timekeeping
- Be a team player
Ideal Skills & Experience
- Experience laying porcelain tiles and natural paving
- Artificial grass experience
- Experience laying turf
- Customer facing experience
- Team leadership experience
Advantage but not essential
- Ability to operate heavy plant and machinery, such as diggers and dumpers
