Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the well-being, comfort, and safety of service users, whilst maintaining excellent communication and organisational skills. Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support service users with daily activities in accordance with their care plans
- Monitor and record health conditions, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with team members, service users, and their families
- Drive or accompany service users to appointments or activities when required
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in line with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of service users
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Strong organisational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including occasional weekends or evenings if needed
