This opportunity is ideal for an experienced stylist who has their own clientele and who wants the freedom to manage their own clients, schedule, and services while benefiting from a professional salon environment.

As a self-employed hair stylist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality hair services to your clients, maintaining excellent customer relationships, and managing your own business operations such as bookings, payments, and product usage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of hairdressing services, including cutting, colouring, styling, treatments, and consultations.
  • Build and maintain a loyal client base through excellent customer service and professional results.
  • Manage your own appointments, diary, and client communications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming workspace in compliance with salon and health & safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends, techniques, and products in the hair industry.
  • Manage your own finances, including pricing, payments, and record-keeping.
  • Supply and maintain your own tools and equipment (unless otherwise agreed).
  • Collaborate with other stylists and contribute to a positive salon atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Qualified Hair Stylist with [NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent certification].
  • Established client base / own clientele essential.
  • Minimum [2 years] experience in hairdressing (salon or freelance).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage your own time, clients, and workload.
  • Up-to-date public liability insurance.
  • Strong passion for creativity and delivering outstanding client experiences.

Chair Rental Terms

  • Weekly/monthly rental fee "to be discussed".
  • Self-employed agreement — you manage your own income and taxes.
