Join Race Strategy as we take on the challenge of Formula One's exciting new era of sustainable technical regulations.

About the role:

As a Graduate Race Strategy Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of analysis and modelling projects covering competitor analysis, strategy tool development and data collection. The role will also include factory-based race and test support duties.

Due to the nature of the role, in line with the Formula One race calendar, many of our key activities take place on weekends where real time analysis and adjustments are crucial for strategy development and execution. Working during these times allows for effective collaboration with team members, drivers, and engineers to optimise performance.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • Conduct competitor performance analysis.

  • Providing race strategy statistics gathering and management.

  • Contribute to race strategy statistical modelling.

  • Contribute to the current race strategy toolsets; working closely with the software group to ensure that toolsets are integrated and developed to a high standard.

  • Support with automating tasks where possible.

  • Assist with race and test support from the factory for some events.

To be successful you will have:

Essential:

  • Relevant mathematics, physics, computer science or engineering degree (2.1 minimum grade or equivalent).

  • Strong mathematics background, with a good understanding of statistics.

  • Flexibility in hours is required.

Desirable:

  • Objectives-focussed, logical approach even under time pressured conditions.

  • Able to provide clear, concise information in all situations, especially in high pressure environments.

  • Able to efficiently work as a part of a developed engineering team.

  • Previous experience in a motorsports environment desirable.

  • Ability to build and then innovate on current engineering solutions.

  • Previous programming experience highly desirable (Python).

Benefits:

When you put the effort in, we give it back. Start with a competitive salary, add in a world-class wellbeing programme (including a free on-site gym), delicious subsidised food, and private medical cover - all on our riverside campus powered by 100% renewable energy. You'll have everything you need to thrive both inside and outside of work.

How to apply:
  • Submit your CV and cover letter as a single PDF to our Workday portal
