Senior Forensic Support Worker

Location: Accrington and Preston available

Salary: £13.50 per hour

Contract Type: Full time

About the Role

Regent Care Recruitment is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and professional Senior Forensic Support Worker to join our client's specialist team. You will work within a secure or semi-secure environment, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, challenging behaviours, or forensic backgrounds.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, high-support setting and is passionate about helping others rehabilitate and reintegrate into the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support and supervision to service users in forensic settings.
  • Assist individuals in developing daily living skills, managing emotions, and building independence.
  • Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and care plans in line with organisational policies.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, psychologists, and social workers.
  • Promote safeguarding, dignity, and respect at all times.
  • De-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a mental health, secure, or forensic environment (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of risk management and positive behaviour support.
  • Caring, resilient, and empathetic nature.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and reliable – able to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to apply).
  • Relevant NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (advantageous).
