Aspire Young Persons Connect is a new service across the Aspire Wellbeing Group. We will be delivering Regulated Supported Living Accommodation for Young People aged 16-21 in our 24/7 homes and semi support options in our independent living homes.

We are looking for experienced practitioners who have the values and motivation to work with young people in the Durham area and Gateshead area as part of the pool of bank team members. The benefits of working as part of the bank team is that you get to choose your hours, days of working and able to pick from the range of shifts when they become available.

We offer 27/7 support, 12 hour support and floating support across our homes based on the young persons support needs.

We believe in providing young people aged 16 to 25 with positive role models and a dedicated, relational, and experienced team around them to create an environment where everyone feels supported to contribute to a service which evolves to meet the needs of young people.

Overview of the role:

To provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people (aged 16–25) living in supported living homes where young people are supported and safeguarded from harm. The role involves promoting independence, supporting personal development, and ensuring the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of each young person in line with their individual support plans.

To provide emotional and practical support tailored to each young person's needs, abilities, and aspirations. Ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment is maintained where young people understand and are supported to reduce any risk in their lives.

Helping young people understand their rights and responsibilities, supporting them to maintain accommodation and engage with their tenancy. Encouraging and assisting young people to engage in education, training, volunteering, or employment opportunities, accessing healthcare services, including mental health support, and developing well-being strategies in line with their goals and aspirations.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who:

· has excellent values, skills and qualities when working with vulnerable young people aged sixteen plus.

· is passionate about supporting young people and understand the challenges they face.

· is confident working independently, calm under pressure, and committed to safeguarding and working in a strength based and trauma informed way.

· will work with young people to promote social inclusion and independent living skills whilst encouraging young people to maximise their skills.

· is able to support young people navigate the education, employment, housing and when needed benefit systems to instil confidence and independence.

· can proactively identify potential issues, implement solutions, and get things done.

· can make safe and effective informed decisions in line with policy and legislation.

· is knowledgeable and experienced regarding the safeguarding and management of risks in relation to young people.

As an experienced practitioner you will have an understanding and practice experience of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Quality Standards, care planning and how to work in accordance with best practice.

Working Hours: This role involves shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins/waking nights, depending on the needs of the service.

You will be expected to work professionally, maintain appropriate boundaries and ensure the overall reputation of the Service and company is maintained.

The role will encompass other duties which are aligned to this role and where they support the Registered Service Manager to deliver a safe and compliant home in line with Regulation, Legal Requirements and Best Practice.

It is preferable that candidates have a full driving license and access to a (car) during the working day and be prepared to use it to undertake duties aligned to the role.
