Logistics Import Export Coordination Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import/Export Logistics Coordinator to manage the logistics of importing and exporting goods, including documentation creation and have strong knowledge and experience of inco-terms, tariffs, duties and trade agreements.
Key 'role' deliverables
Responsible for liaising with global suppliers and ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods to optimise processes and minimise transportation costs.
Coordinate and monitor all outbound and inbound shipments, working closely with our forwarding agents to ensure prompt and timely dispatch and receipt of documentation.
Ensure all shipping documentation is thoroughly checked and verified before dispatch. Accurately measure, record, and reconcile freight costs to invoices, maintaining close collaboration with the finance team to guarantee precise freight accounting
Responsible for completing all necessary documentation for inbound and outbound shipments, such as a commercial invoice, packing list, BOL and any country specific import requirements
Planning and maintaining logistics policies and procedures
Keeping up to date country specific duty and commodity code records
Resolve customer service issues related to delivery, addressing concerns and providing solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Monitor and report on logistics performance, analysing key metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Serving as the point of contact for customers on any logistics related matters
Collaborating with other departments to foster cross-functional communication and alignment to organisational objectives.
Essential Skills
Competent on Microsoft Office programs, in particular excel for the creation, maintenance and manipulation of data for accurate reporting.
Experienced in freight management and/or tracking systems, ERP, purchase systems and preferably SAGE
Experienced in documentation creation and requirements for handling of inbound and outbound shipments to ensure prompt clearance of product
Detailed, diligent and results driven personality
Knowledge and familiar with duty, commodity codes and BOL matters
Confident working with overseas suppliers and customers
Enjoys working within a team structure
Can demonstrate previous experience of working in the same or highly similar role
Open to department multi-skilling as part of a collaborative team
Personal style/ preferences

Working with others This role sits within a supply chain team of 4+, with reporting to the team leader of supply chain team, and will include regular and important working relationships with the finance, sales and product teams.
Compensation Competitive salary, 37.5 hour week, office based hours
25 paid holidays annually
