About the role

We're looking for a curious, hands-on Web Dev / SEO Intern to join our small remote team. You'll work on real website improvements — coding pages, optimizing performance, and helping boost search visibility. This role is ideal for a self-starter who wants practical experience (and portfolio pieces) in both front-end web development and technical SEO.

What you'll do

  • Implement general web design improvements and translate mockups into clean, responsive pages.
  • Code HTML/CSS/JavaScript updates and troubleshoot front-end issues.
  • Audit the site to find technical SEO and user-experience opportunities.
  • Work on on-page SEO: meta tags, schema, headings, internal linking, and content recommendations.
  • Assist with link building outreach and tracking backlink opportunities.
  • Run and interpret Google PageSpeed Insights and implement performance fixes.
  • Stay current with web design and SEO best practices and major algorithm updates; propose changes based on findings.
  • Optional / as time allows:
    perform keyword research and write SEO-focused content or briefs.

What we're looking for

Required

  • Basic web development skills: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals (on-page SEO, basic technical SEO concepts).
  • Comfortable using Google PageSpeed Insights and basic web performance tools.
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to document work.
  • Reliable remote working habits and clear written communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience with WordPress, a static-site generator, or other CMS.
  • Basic experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or similar.
  • Familiarity with link-building strategies and outreach.
  • Basic knowledge of / structured data.
  • Any portfolio links, GitHub, or examples of past work.
