Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. This is initially as maternity cover, but we hope to be able to make this a permanent post.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and education to young children, fostering their development in a safe and nurturing environment. Your ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues will be essential in creating a positive atmosphere within the nursery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and playful activities that promote children's learning and development.
  • Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being at all times.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children, encouraging their social skills and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of all children.
  • Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, sharing updates with parents.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating positive behaviour and encouraging children to follow suit.
  • Enhance the nursery's educational offerings and overall environment.

Experience

  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience in a nursery setting is essential.
  • Proven experience working with children in a childcare or educational environment is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for childcare and early childhood education is crucial.

Our beautiful and engaging setting is carefully designed to support children's learning through endless play opportunities both indoors and in our 2 acre garden.
