Scenic Prep Technician – Fixed Term Contract

Contract Type: Fixed Term Employment

Contract Dates: 3 November – 31 December 2025

Hours: 7.5 paid hours per day (37.5 per week - hours worked beyond this will be paid according to out company overtime rate)

Pay Rate: £28.00 – £36.00 per hour (depending on experience, agreed at offer stage)

Holiday Entitlement: Pro-rata statutory entitlement

Reports to: Senior Staging Manager

Location: Unit 10, Hythe Road, London

Working Pattern:

You will be contracted for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week (5 days at 7.5 hours per day, 08:30–16:30 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break). Actual working days and total weekly hours will be agreed on a rota basis, issued at least one week in advance. While the minimum contracted hours are as set out above, it is expected that in most weeks' additional hours and/or days will be required due to workload. These will be arranged in agreement with you

Purpose

Prepare, maintain, and quality-check staging and furniture items so they are event-ready, accurate, and consistent every time.

Core Responsibilities

• Prep and pack staging and furniture stock to specification.
• Maintain, repair, and finish items to high standards.
• Label, record, and track items correctly.
• Keep prep/workshop spaces safe, tidy, and efficient.
• Report damages, shortages, and quality issues immediately.
• Support onsite install/de-rig when/where required.

Skills & Qualities

• Strong practical skills (painting, finishing, basic cutting & carpentry).
• Accuracy and consistency in all tasks.
• Confident with workshop tools and manual handling.
• Reliable, organised, and quality focused.
• Team player with a professional approach.

• Staging & Furniture items always delivered correct, consistent, and event ready.
• Prep areas remain safe, organised, and efficient.
• Work trusted as right first time.
