London ECA EG, United Kingdom DMC Group Full time £35,000 - £55,000 per year

The DMC Group was formed in 2016 as a platform of complementary, market leading, needlecraft brands. The company owns and operates five iconic needlecrafts brands: DMC (global leader in embroidery threads with a 275-year heritage, the undisputed reference brand); Wool And The Gang (digital-first and contemporary knitting kits); Sirdar (over 125 year British heritage in knitting yarns); Rowan (iconic British premium brand) and Anchor (the most recent acquisition). Products include thread, yarn, kits, patterns, accessories, and publications. The Group also owns Tilsatec, a manufacturer of cut resistant technical yarns and protective gloves/sleeves bringing highly innovative technology to the PPE market.

Based in our Mark Square shared space offices in Shoreditch, this role works with our iconic Rowan Brand. As a premium, quintessentially British heritage yarn brand, the Rowan consumers are committed to their projects, colours and yarns. Rowan provides equisite natural fibre yarns, outstanding designs, informative education and fosters an inclusive community. We need an equally committed Social Media and Community Manager who, working closely with the Head of Brand and the Group Social Content Manager, will own the day to day delivery of an ambitious social media strategy to grow brand awareness whilst retaining our current audience.

The core of this role will be executing marketing campaigns across multiple touchpoints, with a focus on organic, paid social and influencer marketing, whilst being a true brand voice and guardian. This role will spend most of their time on the brand's social channels, being the first point of call for customers, engaging with those in our audience but also in the wider crafting, fashion and lifestyle community, gathering content and creating content. There will also be some input required to support larger brand campaigns onsite, at events and managing influencers and PR.

It is essential to the role that the candidate is comfortable both creating and briefing content for social channels as well as being passionate and knowledgeable about the ever-changing social media landscape.

Crafting abilities are preferred but not essential.

Amongst other things, this role will:

  • Manage the day to day execution of a creative and ambitious social media strategy to drive growth and engagement across all Rowan channels
  • Work closely with the Group Content Manager to deliver the creative content pipeline for paid marketing channels
  • Manage the performance reporting of all channels and social campaigns with a strong analytical eye, providing data-driven recommendations to the wider team
  • Contribute to ideation for content, brand initiatives and campaigns
  • Create still and video content for social channels
  • Video editing for social content, either using in-app tools or external software
  • Assist in producing larger brand shoots, working closely with the wider creative team to bring concepts to life whilst ensuring the content created can be used across multiple platforms
  • Manage our network of influencers, recommending collaborators for launches and keeping in touch with our biggest brand ambassadors

You must have a significant level of relevant experience gained within a retail environment, ideally with a legacy brand that is moving to D2C, be super organised with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple work streams at once, live, breathe and be passionate for social media and know what works and what does not. You will have some experience in marketing channels outside of social, have exceptional communication skills in all media and enjoy collaborative working.
