Overview:

We are seeking a highly commercial and strategically-minded Head of FP&A/Director to join a high-growth, PE-backed technology business headquartered in Reading. This role will be instrumental in driving financial performance, strategic insight, and investor confidence as the business continues its rapid expansion.

You will lead the end-to-end FP&A function and own all investor relations and strategic reporting, acting as a critical business partner to the CFO and wider executive team. The successful candidate will bring rigour, forward-thinking analysis, and strong stakeholder engagement to a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

You'll be involved in:

  • Own and lead the full budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning process across the £600m turnover group.
  • Work closely with the CFO, CEO, Board, and other C-suite leaders on strategic initiatives including market expansion, M&A, and investment prioritisation.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the private equity house, owning the production of the monthly and quarterly shareholder and investor packs.
  • This is a root to branch leadership role where your ability to roll your sleeves up to set up best in class processes is essential. It is a lean team with tight deadlines in a fast paced PE environment
  • Drive insightful financial analysis to support strategic decisions, commercial initiatives, and growth plans.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team of 10 professionals across different sites.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, commercial curiosity, and operational excellence.
  • Implement and enhance tools, models, and processes to ensure data integrity, visibility, and agility in reporting. Competent in managing system transformations for longer term plans within the group.
  • Regular performance reviews with business unit leaders to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Support capital raising and financing activities as required, including debt and equity-related workstreams.

Your background:

  • Proven experience in a senior FP&A leadership role in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment (can be PLC or complex matrix organisation)
  • Demonstrable experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and board-level reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of investor relations and stakeholder management, ideally in a PE-backed context.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and ability to drive performance across a complex business.
  • Professional finance qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with significant years PQE
  • Technology, software or Telco sector experience (not essential)
